Landlords want red tape removed

According to the National Landlords Association (NLA), landlords
should not be held back by expenses and procedures.
The NLA spoke out after the government announced it will be
examining shared housing planning regulations in order to ease the
burden on property owners.
Chairman of the NLA David Salusbury said: "Unnecessary costs and
red tape only serve to detract from [the contribution landlords
make] and we welcome moves to tackle such disincentives to further
investment."
The government proposed its intentions to develop the procedure for
landlords to get planning permission on shared properties.
It will also design new rules that work effectively for local
people looking to rent.
These rule changes will need to be tailored specifically to areas
which have a high proportion of shared housing problems, the NLA
added.
Earlier this week, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
suggested that the government's abolition of home information packs could have a positive affect on
house prices over the summer.
