Waterside properties 'attract higher premiums on house prices'

Estate agents with a number of waterside properties on their
portfolios will be pleased to hear that homebuyers are still
willing to pay a higher price for a coastal home.
According to Nick Marr, director of the Little House Company,
potential homeowners still believe in "location, location,
location".
He stated that popular spots, such as waterside areas, "can
override many negative aspects of a home".
Mr Marr added: "Water views have always increased the desirability
of a property."
His comments follow the Post Office's Mortgages Homebuyers Report,
released yesterday (August 31st 2010), which revealed that people
pay on average an extra £20,448 to live by the water.
Homebuyers looking for a house for sale in the UK have also been
recently advised to check out Yorkshire's Bridlington, Withernsea
and Hornsea, as well as Scotland's Peterhead and Fraserburgh, after
Halifax's Seaside Town Quality of Life report revealed they offer
seaside residents the best combination of quality of life and value
for money.
