Blacksmiths Cottage is an extended period cottage, affording an abundance of light, character and space, coupled with a lovely enclosed rear garden, garage and parking.
From the entrance hall with oak floor and stairs rising to the first floor. There are three reception rooms on the ground floor, beginning with the sitting room on the left being a warm and cosy room courtesy of the feature fireplace and inset 'Franco Belge' stove. There is also a window to the front with window seat. On the right is a study and moving down the hall, on the right is the utility room with space and plumbing for a washing machine, which in turn opens into the cloakroom, here there is the airing cupboard which houses the oil fired central heating boiler. On into the kitchen, which has been substantially updated with a range of wall, base and drawer units, having granite work surfaces over, integrated fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There is also space for a range cooker, plus window and barn door to the rear garden. A further door opens into the dining room, having a flagstone floor and French doors that open onto the patio.
On the first floor there are four good bedrooms and a bathroom, all having matching oak doors off the landing. The master bedroom is beautifully presented with the original, restored and exposed oak beams, window to the front with window seat and door to the en-suite shower room. Also at the front is bedroom two, being open to the eaves also having a window to the front. Bedrooms three and four are at the rear, both having windows with views overlooking the garden and to the countryside beyond. Finally the family bathroom comprises a white suite with a panelled bath and shower over, wash hand basin and a WC.
From the front of the house, a wide gate opens to a path leading into the rear garden. Being well proportioned, a paved patio extends from the rear, before opening out onto the lawn. This benefits from a series of mature shaped flower and shrub beds, with a footpath leading to the foot. To one side is a timber garden shed and then an oil tank, before the path extends down to the detached single garage. This has an up and over door with storage available at the side. There is also parking for a minimum of three cars, with ample space to park a caravan or boat.
