The location ....

Widecombe-in-the-Moor is a village situated in the Dartmoor National Park, approximately 13 miles north west of Newton Abbot, 7 miles west of Bovey Tracey and 22 miles south west of the City of Exeter.

Set in the heart of the Widecombe valley, the village has a surprising amount of amenities including two café tearooms, the Old Inn and the Rugglestone Inn. At the centre of the village is the magnificent church of St Pancras, also known as the "Cathedral of the Moors" and sitting quietly next door is the National Trust’s Church House and Sexton’s Cottage. However, just as important, is the village primary school.

The Village is probably best known for Widecombe Fair, held annually on the second Tuesday of each September, attracting countless visitors. Of course, the gorgeous setting of the village is one to savour, as the wild ponies, sheep and cattle meander on the village green! The scenery surrounding the village is also quite stunning.
